Strolling the cobbled street of the ancient old town, relaxing in one of the many parks, enjoying beautiful views over the city from the bell tower, watching balloons wandering across the sky on a summer evening, but most of all the friendly local people is what makes Vilnius the perfect weekend getaway.

Interviews: with Erik Suchy
1. What is the essence of Vilnius?
It was amazing time abroad, ten days around the Baltic countries were awesome with a lot of new experiences and great feelings. I took a lot of nice pictures from all of these states, but especially from Lithuania. For me Vilnius is very clean and calm city, with a lot of traditional shops.

1. What is the essence of Vilnius?
Being here in this graceful city, exactly in this period of the year, is probably the best experience ever
I could have as traveller. Meanwhile summer is coming you can clearly see a mood change in citizens: a bright and harmonious life starts in the streets, with lot of open spaces becoming a meeting point for people. Walking in the main avenues you can't believe your eyes about how many temporary-bars have been installed on the sidewalk to join the summer life. Despite stereotypes that usually orbit around northern countries, locals of Vilnius are really friendly and warm people.

1. What is the essence of Vilnius?
I think Vilnius old town is really beautiful, likewise here is the reason why the city is called the pearl of the baltics. From what I see less visitors compared it to Tallinn and Riga. May I suggest your block should include Estonia and Latvia. And of course would be great a short trip around Vilnius.

1. What is the essence of Vilnius?
We like not only Vilnius, but all Lithuania! How can I describe Vilnius? For me it 's really a beautiful city. The people, their courtesy, and the public places are well structured and well maintained. It's nice for example to have a walk along the main avenues in the Old Town. I hope to visit again Vilnius, probably I'll plan it for next year.

1. What is the essence of Vilnius?
Tough one. I think Vilnius is at the cross roads of different countries. There is a bit of a scandinavian feeling, lots of shops are the same as in Finland, Sweden, etc. Though at the same time it is way less expensive than Scandinavia and people are much more friendly/Open minded more like Central/Eastern Europe.
